Allyson Felix

Allyson Melissa Felix was born in Los Angeles, California on November 18, 1985. The father of her Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley and their mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix realized early on that she had an aptitude for running when attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. Ten weeks after the first time she tried out her skills, she placed second in 200m at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix graduated from her high school year in 2003 and became a part of Adidas to become a professional athlete. Following that, she attended University of Southern California studying elementary education. One year later Felix earned her very first Olympic medal during the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece making a junior world record by running 200 meters within 22.18 seconds. In 2005, the Helsinki World Championships saw her become the youngest woman to win the 200 meter race. In 2007 she defended this title and beat her Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix always placed within the top three in her various competitions during the Olympics that took place during Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
